2005 - December 8th - Thursday

JH saw Paul Fewings, Consultant Neurosurgeon, in his Clinic about JH’s back and leg pain - particularly in the left heel (which the gentleman in the Podiatry Department had previously said was nothing to do with JH’s plantar fasciitis).  JH is to have a lumbar MRI in 8 – 12 weeks time.

2005 - December 12th - Monday

JH rang her GP: Kathy’s Consultant, Dr Fernando Moro-Azuela, Consultant Nephrologist, had written to Dr Bailey, and Dr Bailey had already replied saying that JH could be referred as appropriate – JH’s understanding of this exchange of correspondence is simply to allow Dr Bailey to say if she thought JH to be a poor potential donor!  JH’s GP Receptionist remarked that it was hardly surprising that Kathy forgot the name of her Consultant [or perhaps JH could not understand Kathy’s pronunciation?]!

2005 - December 13th - Tuesday

Kathy rang JH: Kathy was sending off her Christmas letters in which she had told all the Hipsey Clan that I (JH) am planning to donate a kidney; also Kathy will be sending off her usual letter of invitation for the Hipsey Reunion – presumably both Reunions to be held in 2006, ie, the triennial Millennium Reunion in Althorne in July 2006, and the Family Picnic in Greenwich Park at the end of July 2006.  JH and Kathy had already decided that it was too late to send the sheets of the Family Tree to Edwin in Canada to update – with the information obtained at Althorne in 2003 – as he would undoubtedly be coming to Althorne in 2006.  JH had planned to email Edwin about this matter but perhaps it is just as well JH never got round to it as the Hipseys in Canada will now be up-to-date with the plans for JH to donate a kidney, ie, the Hipsey Clan in its entirety having heard straight from Kathy’s mouth!
