2005 - October 13th - Thursday

Telephone Conversation: Kathy said she was writing a letter to be handed to Maggie, her Carer, with all my personal details, including GP.  She could not remember Maggie’s surname but anticipated asking her to find out who the Live Donor Transplant Co-ordinator was in that region, and also to hand Kathy’s letter to the appropriate person.  In particular, as well as getting a Health History of JH, documentation of JH’s blood group would be required.

While on the phone, JH looked at Family Tree (again) and confirmed that William Cadman Hipsey was her grandfather with four greats.  JH then observed  (but also remembered Peter Hipsey mentioning) that JH’s great, great grandmother, Eliza, had an illegitimate son, Solomon; if her son had not been illegitimate, JH would not have the surname Hipsey and so would not have met Kathy!

Action: JH to contact her own GP with a view to giving consent for complete disclosure; JH would also contact Derriford Hospital in the event of no documented evidence of blood group at GP Surgery; JH would also plan to call into National Blood Service (NBS) Office to see if they could provide documented evidence of JH’s Blood Group.
