2006 - December 14th - Thursday

Sara rang JH and confirmed that a letter, dated 6 December 2006, had been sent from Dr Denton to Dr Moro-Azuela; the letter stated at the end, ‘I note that you are wanting to do a CT renal angiogram at your Institution.’  JH pointed out to Sara that JH had had a CT angiogram on 18 October 2006; neither Sara or JH could fathom out why Dr Denton had put this observation at the end of his letter but presumed that he had not, in actual fact, discovered the CT angiogram report in JH’s Notes: Sara undertook to provide JH with copies of the letter, and all the imaging investigation results; Sara also undertook to send copies of the latter to ‘them’, as well – in particular the CT angiogram result (‘them’ presumably meant Dr Moro-Azuela, as he is the top addressee).  JH had asked Sara to check JH’s weight and B/P, because JH was aware that – especially on Thursday afternoons – that Maria, and Gail, Clinic Staff Nurse, and Receptionist Respectively, did seem to be getting fed up with JH turning up just when they were busy with Clinics (although JH is sure she went along one Thursday when all was quiet – so some Clinics could not have been taking place). JH went to the Renal Unit and Sara weighed JH and took her B/P: weight 15st 8lb, ie, much heavier than JH thought; JH weighs herself on Sundays at home and has found her weight to be stable at about 14st 10lb; Sara suggested that JH’s shoes were rather heavy, and a passing Nurse commented that JH had also eaten breakfast and lunch; JH’s B/P was within normal limits and pulse was 77 (B/P machine).  However, Dr Denton has said: IN SUMMARY, JEANETTE IS A SUITABLE DONOR.

In the evening JH got CM message from Kathy to the effect that she had spoken to Linda, Dr Denton’s Nephrology Secretary in Derriford!  JH was a bit miffed at this but then thought - Kathy is only doing what JH has done in the past (and proposes to do in the future), ie, speak directly to the Ladies who Know!  Linda had told Kathy that the contents of the letter were confidential, and JH should speak to Sara – which JH had not done, but not for want of trying, JH observes!  JH left message on the Skinners’ CM saying that JH is fit to give a kidney.

2006 - December 15th - Friday

JH rang up and spoke to Ralph who was still in bed at 10.15am - as recuperating from busy day at his diabetic clinic appointment on the previous day; Kathy had had an appointment at the Hospital as well, but she was not in when JH phoned, because she had gone to have her dialysis in the morning so that she and Ralph could go to Northampton to attend Kathy’s grandchild, Jesse’s Nativity Play.

JH explained that the letter sent by Dr Denton – saying that JH was fit to give a kidney – actually gave the impression that JH still needed a CT angiogram, although JH had had one done; JH said that she had been given copies of her results plus a copy of the letter.  JH sent Sara a copy of J’s and K’s first email exchange.

JH phoned both Dr Moro-Azuela’s Secretary, Terri, and Dr Thuraisingham’s Secretary, Maggie Balmuth: JH Spoke to Terri in Southend Hospital and explained that a letter dated 6th December was on its way; Terri did not recollect receiving the letter yet; Terri also agreed with JH to the effect that, really, one would expect the top addressee to have been Dr Thuraisingham; JH explained about having had a CT angiogram, and said that Sara Stacey had sent off copies of the reports about JH’s imaging investigations.  JH left a message on Maggie’s CM at the RLH - to the effect that JH assumed that she had received a copy of the letter of the 6th December, and that JH had already had a CT angiogram.  JH asked Maggie to let JH know what happens next, ie, will JH be invited to go to an Independent Review Panel shortly?
