2006 - January 19th - Thursday

Kathy phoned JH in rather a rush as she needed to be at the RLH for her aforementioned appointment.  She confirmed that the roll containing the Family Tree had arrived that morning!  Kathy was anxious to know what was going to happen next to JH – so that she had her story ‘ready’ when she saw her Consultant.  JH explained that, after Kathy’s Consultant had written to JH’s GP a letter had been sent in reply to Kathy’s Consultant’s letter.  Sara Stacey now expected to receive a letter from Maggie Farrell, presumably asking Sara to make an appointment for JH to see a Nephrologist in Plymouth, in other words, the Folks at Kathy’s end do not ask for blood samples in the first instance.

JH rang Derriford Hospital and spoke to a member of the nursing staff; Sara was not available; JH explained that she was eager to know if any information could be found with regards to JH receiving a Nephrology appointment; the Transplant Sister undertook to contact Sara via the latter’s mobile but, in actual fact, JH phoned her back and said that JH could phone Sara as the former had Sara’s mobile number.  JH left a message on Sara’s mobile explaining that Kathy was laboriously writing down everything that JH had told her – the latter needing to spell (again) ‘Derriford’ and ‘Nephrologist’.  JH did say to Kathy – who was in a great hurry to leave at 1 o’clock to get to her appointment at 2 o’clock – that Kathy must realise that the reply sent by JH’s GP may say something which precludes JH from being a Donor.  JH also told Kathy about the item in the Plymouth Evening Herald ((EH) entitled “Looking Back” about Jeanette Hispey (sic).  {JH observes that perhaps it would have been ‘better’ if JH had not contacted Sara in the first place but just left things to ‘take their course’ at Kathy’s end.}

2006 - January 22nd - Sunday

JH phoned Kathy and left a CM message to the effect that she would send a copy of the item out of the EH with regards to JH’s arrival in Plymouth in 1965 to do Midwifery Training; when the article was printed (Saturday 14 January 2006) JH’s name had been spelt Hispey throughout!  Kathy phoned JH back later on to say that I was not on the computer at the RLH; in any event, Kathy was going to speak to Maggie tomorrow, 23rd.
