JH posted Looking Back article to Kathy, also she sent a card with a message on about the article and mentioning that she had not managed to speak to Sara.

2006 - January 27th - JH's 65th BIRTHDAY

JH received a small note from Kathy about some of the information which had been requested off the Family Tree; Kathy also attached a Postit stating that card and Info had been received, ie, the article from EH.

After doing her WRVS Tea Bar duties, JH called in at Lyn Headon’s office to collect the Invitation to the family picnic in July 2006 which JH had accidentally left behind (when leaving an Invitation for Lyn to come to have a cup of tea and a bun for JH’s birthday).  JH met Sara Stacey who told JH that Maggie Farrell at Southend had not found JH’s GP reply-letter.  Sara just managed to get through to St Neot’s Surgery (before she left/it shut) and the Surgery Receptionist undertook to send a copy of the missing reply to Sara so that Sara could make sure the letter got to the correct addressee.  JH apologised to Sara for cluttering her mobile with a garbled message on Thursday 19 January 2006!

 

JH phoned Kathy in the evening to tell her about the missing letter and what was being done; Apparently the letter was sent off at the end of November, see JH’s entry for 12 December 2005; Kathy stated that JH was on the Computer now (presumably at the RLH) because Kathy had asked for JH to be put thereon!

JH noted that Kathy had not sent the former a birthday card: this was not mentioned as JH is sure that – should Kathy realise - that Kathy would be most upset.

2006 - January 31st - Tuesday

JH phoned Kathy to ask her which ‘Doreen’ had died – as mentioned in her Invitation to the family picnic in Greenwich Park on Sunday 30 July 2006: the deceased Doreen was a Wilson and aged about 70.  Kathy sounded in good spirits and said she had guessed it was me phoning as, inevitably, a member of her family or close friend usually manage to phone just as she and Ralph are sitting down to a meal: JH was just off to catch the 2020 bus to Su Watson’s to play music, and JH could hear the chink of knifes and forks over phone!
