2006 - November 28th - Tuesday

JH received a phone call from Kathy (saying it was her turn to phone) inviting JH to spend Christmas with the Skinners!  JH was just off to catch the 7E bus to go to Su’s so will ring back.  Was this the phone call when Kathy said she was going to get an email address at her Leisure Club?

2006 - November 29th - Wednesday

JH tried to speak to Kathy in the morning to decline the offer to stay for Christmas but could not get through; Kathy left message on JH’s CM (3.13pm) saying that neither Southend Hospital or the RLH had heard from Derriford.  Kathy stated that she and Ralph wanted to make arrangements to go to Cyprus for their usual visit {JH had a thought that this had already been mentioned recently}; Kathy stated, again, that she would ask someone at her end to chivvy Derriford up, and also Kathy asked JH to hurry things up at her end.  JH received the message as soon as she got home from her Tea Bar Duties and was most concerned: JH spoke to Linda, Dr Denton’s Nephrology Secretary (to whom JH had spoken before) and explained the whole story; it was, of course, not Linda’s responsibility to deal with a potential Donor, but Linda said she would put a note in Dr Denton’s message book on her desk; Linda also told JH that, at present, the Transplant Secretary was a Locum, Jackie, who had only been in the Department a week; however, she would mention JH’s saga to Jackie.

JH’s telecom with Ralph JH rang up Kathy and just missed her as she had gone to her evening dialysis session; however, JH spoke at length to Ralph: JH explained to Ralph that JH liked a quiet life at Christmas – which was how Ralph and Kathy liked theirs; JH did explain that, having recently survived a visit to the sardine-packed underground in London, that she rather balked at visiting London again so soon; Ralph said that he and Kathy were not having any of the family round over Christmas because they were ‘doing their own thing’; the Skinners were going to have a meal in a local Restaurant with two friends on boxing day.  JH also hoped that, in the not to distant future, JH and Kathy would meet up, at the Independent Panel, to be adjudicated {not separately – as Kathy had said}, so would hopefully meet each other, even if JH did not come for Christmas.  JH phoned Sara Stacey on the latter’s mobile: JH actually got an engaged signal when she first phoned (before speaking to Ralph) but, then, she just got through to the mobile Provider, so she left a message on Sara’s mobile ‘Message-Taker’; JH explained the saga of JH’s concerns about Kathy’s phone call; JH also mentioned the fact that Sara had not actually eyeballed the Letter from Dr Thuraisingham dated in July 2006.
