2006 - November 30th - Thursday

JH went to the Renal Unit and spoke to Lyn Headon who took two photocopies of Dr Thuraisingham’s letter for JH.  JH tried to find Linda (at 2.25pm) Dr Denton’s Nephrology Secretary but missed her; JH put a copy of Dr Thuraisingham’s letter under Linda’s office door with a note requesting that Linda kindly place the copy in JH’s notes [although JH realised this was not her responsibility]; JH spoke to Linda on phone to apologise for, yet again, troubling her; however, Linda said I had only just missed her, and that she would be happy to do as I asked.

2006 - December 1st - Friday

JH phoned Jackie, Dr Denton’s Transplant Secretary from the A&E WRVS Tea Bar, so it was difficult to have a conversation: Jackie was very amenable but, as she had only been in the Renal Department working for a week, did no know all the ins and outs of JH’s Story, however, she listened very professionally; she suggested that Sara was the best person to speak to but JH knows that Sara is not usually around on a Friday.  JH asked Jackie if Linda had filed Dr Thuraisingham’s letter – assuming that they shared an office; Jackie said that she would pop next door and tell Linda that I had phoned.  Subsequently, JH phoned Linda who confirmed that she had placed the copy letter in JH’s Notes – which were on Dr Denton’s desk; Linda did not have time to look to see if a copy was already therein.  {JH also spoke to Lyn Headon on the phone – to tell Lyn that there was a copy of the Collograph, Moonlighting, which JH had sent to Hanna (JH’s great niece) for a birthday present, in an Exhibition at Plymouth Museum.}

2006 - December 3rd - Sunday

JH phoned Kathy in the morning: the line was engaged but JH phoned again in the evening, after returning from swimming, and left a message on answerphone to the effect that JH was ‘on the case’.

2006 - December 4th - Monday

JH received a card Battlesbridge Essex from Kathy: Kathy’s card was dated 30 November 2006; she stated that she had spoken, again, to Ray Trevitt at the RLH and he was sending yet another letter - regarding JH’s and Kathy’s visit to the RLH in July 2006 – to Mr(sic) Denton in Derriford, ‘hoping that we shall get some results now.’.  On the envelope (a PS remembered after sealing the envelope) Kathy wrote that she had booked to go to Cyprus from 21st April to 2nd May 2007 – but JH must check these dates as she shredded the envelope rather quickly!  JH phoned Kathy about 4.45pm: Kathy sounded really unwell – and said that she felt so ‘knackered’, and had spent the whole day in bed, and that Ralph was going to take her for her dialysis.  JH said how pleased she was with her painting of Battlesbridge.  JH phoned Sara Stacey but spoke to Peter, Sara’s colleague who said that Sara was not about but would be in the Hospital tomorrow.
