2006 - November 5th - Sunday Bang! Bang!

JH phoned Kathy and left message on her answerphone:  JH assumed that Kathy was out at some sort of Firework Party; JH said that she had spoken to Sara Stacey last week, and that Sara had not quite collated all JH’s Investigations together.

2006 - November 6th - Monday

JH rang Renal Unit but Sara was not available; subsequently JH sent Sara an email: JH explained that Lyn Headon might have told Sara that JH was anxious, again, to speak to Sara; JH explained to Sara the outcome of JH’s visit to her GP; in actual fact, JH attached page 28 of her Donation Document to the email.  In particular JH expressed the thought that someone else will have to tell JH, eyeball to eyeball, if she cannot donate a kidney and, if this is the case, it would be JH’s responsibility to break this news to Kathy.

2006 - November 7th - Tuesday

JH had ears syringed by Practice Nurse who ticked JH off because JH had not tilted her head for 5 Minutes after putting olive oil drops into her ears!  However, a large clod did come out of each ear which improved the situation.

2006 - November 8th - Wednesday

JH had repeat bloods taken and a repeat ECG performed by Practice Phlebotomist, Amanda Hancock: Amanda and JH got engrossed in a conversation about things to do with transplants, and euthanasia!  Amanda had been told by a relative of a friend, who was to give a kidney to someone, that the transplant would only last two years – which seemed rather a short length of time to be practical after going though all the hassle of donation.  JH undertook to let Amanda know about the ‘life expectancy’ of a donated kidney (whether from a live or deceased donor), and also to send Amanda JH’s book about Euthanasia, Euthanasia and Clinical Practice - as we also discussed a Story presently in the Media.  Query about 3 years ago, the parents of a very premature baby had gone to the NHS Ombutsman to insist that the baby was ‘kept alive’ by the Hospital looking after her, but the parents had since split up, and the very handicapped baby had remained care of the NHS since her birth.  Discussions were taking place – which reached the Media – about euthanasia for such compromised babies.  Amanda was extremely angry about this turn of events, ie, about the parents divorcing and abandoning the baby!  She also volunteered the information that she is a ‘lapsed’ Roman Catholic; JH observes that her Book was published by the Linacre Centre, an RC ‘Watchdog’.
