2006 - September 21st - Thursday

JH phoned Ralph as JH realised that the Skinners would be out on Friday evening at South Moulton Renal Unit, and then returning home early on Saturday.  Kathy had had a day in bed as she had a ‘bad time’ during her dialysis the evening before.  JH received an email reply from Sara Stacey [not actually opened by JH until Friday 22nd]: Sara stated that she had asked the Planned Investigation Unit to admit JH within a month for all the Investigations required; in particular Sara stated  - amongst other things – that JH could be screened for MRSA if JH so wished; recipients of transplants are screened for MRSA but, in Plymouth, donors are not.  JH could, of course visit her GP about her slow pulse but, in any event, JH would have and ECG performed.

JH sent email to Sara: JH’s friend no longer has MRSA.

2006 - September 28th - Thursday

JH visited Renal Unit  OPD Staff too busy to do blood pressure and weight; Sara took JH’s pulse: 62.

2006 - September 30th - Saturday

JH phoned Kathy and left message on answerphone to tell her that JH would be having all the appropriate tests within the next month.  JH also told Kathy that Anne Dunk’s husband, Bill, had died on Sunday 24 September 2006.  Anne had left a message on JH’s CM on the previous evening, and JH phoned Anne this morning: Bill had been in hospital but was thoroughly miserable, so Anne and Virginia had nursed Bill at home for several weeks.

JH received appointment letters for Renogram and EDTA/GFR to take place on 17 October 2006Subsequently JH noticed, just in time, that the EDTA/GFR was to be performed two days later, ie, on 19th October!

2006 - October 3rd - Tuesday

JH phoned Dr Thuraisingham’s Secretary to enquire about clinic letter following JH’s trip to the RLH on 6 July 2006.  The Secretary, Maggie (who did not offer a surname but which JH subsequently discovered is ‘Balmuth’) said that she had a letter on her computer typed on 18 July 2006; JH explained that this letter to Dr Denton had never been received at Derriford; Maggie undertook to send another copy to Dr Denton, and also a copy to JH.  JH sent an email to Sara Stacey to say a copy letter was on its way.  JH also asked for some booklets as she had given her previous supply to her Attorneys.

Wednesday 4 October 2006

JH received an admission letter stating that a bed had been booked for 2 nights in PIU.
