2007 - April 8th - Sunday

JH sent an email to Sara to update the latter on the situation: JH explained that she had received an appointment to have the angiogram done in the RLH: furthermore, JH said that she must be at the Hospital at 8.30am, and that she must go home with an ‘escort’ who should stay with her for 24 hours – JH opined that she should have snapped up a husband to be useful in this capacity.  JH told Sara that JH had been mulling over the situation: she mentioned that she knew of the private hospital - London BRIDGE Hospital – as her Uncle Norman had been a patient there; furthermore JH explained that she knew folks down at the Duchy Hospital in Cornwall, and in the Imaging Department; also JH observed that, as Kathy dialyses at the North Devon Renal Annexe when staying in Croyde Bay, that she is known to require a kidney by the folks there.  JH also recounted the telephone conversation which JH had had with Kathy that day.  Kathy rang JH and was surprised to learn that JH had received an angiography appointment in London: JH explained all the options she was still exploring – via Sara – [with NO mention of ‘going private’].

2007 - April 16th - Monday

JH forwarded the email to Sara, dated, 8 April 2007, to Ray – with a load of other queries – on the day that Ray returned from Holiday!  JH referred to Ray’s email reply about an angiogram being a Day Case Procedure: JH said that she had been told that he, also, had an accommodation list, and that JH still thought it was ‘reasonable’ of her to ask him to find a bed for two nights for JH.  JH attached a copy of JH’s and Kathy’s Family Tree, which JH had first compiled in October 2005.

JH received a CM phone call from Ray as well as an email reply by ‘return of post’ today!  Ray said that he had contacted the James Hoarer (? Spelling) Home which is just behind the RLH; the Home accommodates relatives of patients in hospital but are also quite happy to accommodate JH for the two nights, ie, before and after the angiogram.

Later in the day JH Received a phone call from Ralph to tell her that Kathy had been admitted as an inpatient to Southend Hospital: the story being that, on the evening of Wednesday, 11 April 2007, Kathy had obviously got one of these gastric bugs and vomited ++ - which of course disrupted her fluid balance.  Ralph was very worried about her and took her into hospital; this necessitated waking up Jesse, Kathy’s 8-year old grandson who is Kathy’s younger daughter, Michelle’s son -  who was ‘sleeping over’ with his grandparents: so Jesse had to go to the Hospital as well.  After arrival at the Hospital, Kathy got diarrhoea as well and found it very difficult to drink, let alone eat anything.  Subsequently, it was noted that there was no pulse in Kathy’s surgically-created fistula at her wrist through which needles are inserted for dialysing.  She was scheduled to have surgery in the morning – Tuesday 17 April 2007 – hoping that the surgeons could unclog the fistula and that she would be well enough to go away on her planned trip to Cyprus on 21 May 2007.

Ralph had told JH that Kathy could receive emails on the console by her bed so JH sent an email to Kathy for her to read at Southend Hospital; Ray Trevitt was copied in: [email actually dated 170407 at 0020] JH said that she would keep her fingers and toes crossed so that Kathy would be well enough to go on holiday; JH explained that Ray had arranged some accommodation {which Ralph had heard of as someone he knew had made use of the accommodation}; JH also talked about foxes, because Ralph had said he was going to watch the TV Programme about urban foxes that evening.
