2007 - November 12th - Monday

JH travelled back to Plymouth - arriving at a few minutes past 1.00pm.  One of JH’s interlocutors at the exhibition of Memory Boxes had told JH that a programme, about the photographs which were taken during the Holocaust, was to be broadcast in the evening but, unfortunately, JH forgot to video the programme before she went out to visit the Islamic Centre, with other people from the Plymouth Centre for Faiths and Cultural diversity.  Hopefully, JH will spot a repeat.

2007 - November 15th - Thursday

JH attended her first appointment at the Eric Angel Pain Management Centre {ie, PRU} – out of 6, weekly, appointments – for acupuncture!  JH was originally offered acupuncture by Mark Taylor, The Anaesthetist in the EAPMC, to whom JH was referred by Paul Fewings, Consultant Neurosurgeon.  Mr Fewings had kindly seen JH, on 8 December 2005, with regards to JH’s back pain, and left sided sciatica radiating in particular to her heel - after he had met JH limping down the corridor in Derriford.  JH saw Dr Taylor on 9 August 2006: at that time there had been no Acupuncturist in post, so JH was put on a waiting list.

In the intervening 15 months several things had happened with regards to JH’s aches and pains – and the changing pattern of JH’s aches and pains has already documented.  JH had been seen, at follow-up appointments, by Rachel Horn on 3 April 2007 [at which appointment JH was told that, as two job-sharing acupuncturists had been appointed, that JH would probably receive her appointment/s in +/- 6/52!], and Sue Blowey on 2 October 2007.  In the meanwhile . . . JH had also received various communications {sometimes in duplicate} about whether or not JH still wished to receive some acupuncture: JH said that she would!  JH did cancel the 3rd appointment for physiotherapy with Alison Morton - which had also been arranged for 15th November.

2007 - November 20th - Tuesday

Dr Hateley came to Hippo Haven/The Wallow to collect JH’s pictures of Lopwell.  This offer did not exactly arise from Dr H’s ‘donation’ of a blue hippo stethoscope holder to JH; JH had previously offered to donate a water-dispensing machine to the Surgery, via the Friends of the Surgery (although she, herself is quite happy to drink tap water), but Health and Safety considerations precluded the installation of a machine which might be tripped over!  So, as JH noticed the bare walls of the surgery, and needed to make more room in Chez JH, she was delighted when the surgery accepted the offer of her collection of pictures of Lopwell – as she still might occasionally see them, but hopefully only occasionally!
