2007 - October 1st - Monday

JH had another chat with the Pharmacist at the Co-operative Pharmacy about pain control, and avoidance of bowel disruption. That night JH was very uncomfortable with ‘flashes’ of pain up and down her left arm, and also in her neck – slightly on the right as well; JH took some Co-dydramol during the early hours.

2007 - October 2nd - Tuesday

JH attended her 18/12 FU appointment at the Pain Relief Unit: this had been arranged the day before when JH had, serendipitously, received a phone call from the PRU just when JH needed advice about pain control!  JH saw Sue Blowey, Nurse Consultant, who patiently listened to all of JH’s tale of woe with regards to her pattern of pain being different from when she had originally presented with left-sided heel pain predominantly: JH had – in the interim - had a major operation and a whiplash injury!  Sue described two drug regimes, which would ‘fit the picture’ of JH’s present pain management, and gut disruption problems; she stated that, although she could hand JH prescriptions herself, she would preferably leave it to Dr Hateley to prescribe a new regime; Sue would be sending off the clinic letter to Dr Hateley within a week to 10 days, but Sue also wrote down the information about the suggested drug regimes so that JH would have this note to give to Dr Hateley, should she visit him before the letter reached the Surgery.

2007 - October 3rd - Wednesday

Robert the Computer Man came back with JH’s new computer which he had built, and connected JH to broadband via JH’s new modem!  The computer had already been delivered once but, somehow, JH had managed to delete her e-recycle bin; Robert having re-loaded (or whatever) an electronic recycle bin, JH was then able to use her computer again; furthermore, as Robert had previously managed to retrieve JH’s Word Documents off her old hard drive, and load them into the new computer’s hard drive, JH was able to continue to edit/update this Document.

2007 - October 6th - Saturday

JH had received the photos, of Ralph’s die-cast model collection, back from Rozee Douglas: JH had sent these photos to the Douglases in July - thinking that they would be of interest, as Bill Douglas has a collection of model trains; JH wrote thanking Rozee for returning the photos; and JH sent some copies of pictures of hippos, which Rozee had originally sent to JH, by email on 17 February 2006, but which JH had never received, and only found in her electronic post box when she accessed her email at St Budeaux Library – after her computer crashed in September!  JH phoned the Skinners and had a quick chat.
