2008 - July 23rd - Wednesday

JH received her order for a copy of the photograph published in the Extra; JH had ordered two photos – one of which she directed straight to the Skinners’ address, as she did not anticipate receiving the photos in time to take a copy up to the Reunion; JH phoned up Chez Skinner in order to get an update, and mention the delivery of a photo: Ralph answered the phone – sounding somewhat weary; he said that Kathy was upstairs asleep, and he was relaxing watching TV.  Kathy had been discharged on Monday 21st July; the drain had been removed; Kathy was scheduled to go to the RLH on Friday 25th July to be re-assessed; she has been told that, if the lymphocele is continuing to fill up that some sort of surgery might be required to obliterate (JH’s word) the lymphocele.  After some lunch, Ralph was going to attend his appointment, to have his eyes tested, which had been postponed because of the Skinners repeated trips to the RLH – so he must go this time.  Ralph also said, again, that he hoped to be able to pop along to the picnic.

JH also received a phone call from Jenny Hipsey:  Jenny was phoning JH back to refuse the offer of one of JH’s old sinks which she has spare in her garden; Jennie asked JH to give Jennie’s Grandma a big hug, when JH sees Grandma at the picnic, because Pic had had a nasty fall which had shaken her up, and made her arthritis flare-up again; JH said she was not a hugger but would undoubtedly make an exception in this case!
